Today I had a relaxed interview with Revilo – 22 year old rapper from Howden, East Yorkshire.
His music echoes a sheer passion. You can tell he enjoys himself whilst he is making music.
He is incredibly talented at fast rap, or ‘chopper’ style rap which rappers like Tech N9ne, Token and Joyner Lucas are all examples of.
Revilo fits into this market, whilst being accessible from others. He is an example of when a rapper purely enjoys what they do and makes good music in the process.
His music videos, paired with his incredible mastery of flow, make for a story-telling experience. The editing in all of his videos are extremely well done for an upcoming rapper. The powerful lyrics and delivery which Revilo provides makes for a gritty, raw feel.
Forget repetitive flows though as Revilo delivers fresh new flows to each beat. Repitition is something the current industry can be guilty of, promoting rappers that have the same generic flow for every song they do. ‘Migos’ are a classic example of this, whether you love them or hate them.
His music and his videos are a fresh insight into what he is about.

Revilo has released 8 singles on Spotify so far although has told me he is ‘sitting on some tracks’.
In the interview, it became clear to me that he is extremely passionate about music and is willing to put in the grind. Revilo has rapped on stage before with American rapper Hopsin and it is clear to me why he picked him.
